West Yorkshire is the UK’s largest county and is made up of 5 districts – Leads, Wakefield, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford. The county in times gone by was famous for producing Coal, Iron and wool. Most of these industries have now diminished however some of the buildings still remain contributing to the counties stunning historical architecture. The area is also the ancestral home to Marks & Spencer with Michael Marks setting out his market stall in Leeds in 1884. When Joined by Thomas Spencer in 1894, Marks & Spencer was born and would go on to become the hugely successful multinational retailer that has stood the test of time. The county is also home to one of the worlds first nature reserves in the grounds of Walton Hall near Wakefield, now known as Anglers Country Park.

West Yorkshire is diverse and is home to many cultures with Bradford being at the heart.
